It's one thing when a fan can't separate the character from the actor, another when the actors get confused about it. Doubtless he thinks he's smart and fearless like Dr. Jones. This is the geezer that still insists on flying his own plane when the evidence (couple of crashes) strongly suggests he shouldn't. No doubt he thinks being climate-woke will keep him relevant (employed) and maybe even get him laid.
Almost all the movies I watch are either foreign or old. None of the actors in those ever pisses me off like the current crop of dipSchiffs. Their brand of Socialism is for us, not them, as shown by the lifestyles they exhibit.
