Started out shooting purchased lubed cast bullets. Did a bit of lead removal scrubbing.
Then I started casting my own bullets. Always concerned about size and hardness. I didn't want to get into wax lubing so I used Tumble Lubes. They worked well although a bit messy and I still had to do a bit of lead removal scrubbing.
Now I use Hi-Tek bullet coating from Bayou Bullets(liquid). Cast em, coat em, size em (Lee sizer), coat em again, load em, shoot em.
I no longer worry about hardness or size and I no longer need to scub any lead from by bores.
Love this stuff.
I'm getting some leading with them in my .44 Mag. at 1120 FPS. What FPS are you at? Oh, BTW - I am not casting my own, I buy the already coated bullets from them. Thanks for the reply.
