The big advantage of the Sawyer Squeese Filter is the syringe that is included. It allows for back-flushing the filter element. I have even used the Sawyer syringe on my Platapus Waterworks filter. That saved me from spendiong $60 to replace my Platapus filter element. I have also combined some after market items to turn my squeeze filter into a gravity filter. You can sit on the bag and avoid squeezing. The dissadvantage of the Sawyer system is that the bags are prone to develope leaks. But you can buy a set of two 1/2 gallon bags at REI for $10.
