I don't think middle America will be as willing to vote for the Obamas this time around, if that happens. The national-level Democratic party has so alienated flyover country that I just can't see a coastal or Chicago savior riding in at the last minute and saving them.
It would take some sort of Blue Dog Democrat from the interior to win back some of the smaller electoral votes, and if any of those types are out there, they probably aren't going to be getting funding from the DNC. Or the support of urban centers.
Until the Repubs shoot themselves in the foot and piss off middle America, they appear to have the electoral advantage. At least until Texas and Florida go completely blue.
If I was Trump, I would be campaigning hard in Michigan, Wisconsin, Florida, Texas, Virginia, Ohio, and possibly Missouri. Looks to me like those states will decide it, assuming Pennsylvania goes Democrat.
