Yes. But you best believe those folks knew how to dig in, in a hurry.

Once upon a time, four friends and I tried to ski across the Sierras, on what's known as the "High Route". The first day in, in the morning it looked like your picture of 36 hours ago. Only nicer. Blue skies, zero clouds, too damned hot to be wearing anything more than the inner layer. 5 hours later we were holed up in a snow cave. The winds were so high that we were constantly getting knocked over by them. If a bunch of tenderfoot white boys can do it, ferdamsure the ole time Alaskan natives could.

At any rate, looks a bit brisk. Stay safe out there.
