I picked up one of the shirts in South Africa. I wore it extensively at a camp in west central Alberta last spring. The headquarters is beside a small lake and the shooting range is by a partly dry muskeg swamp. Mosquito country.

I was not bothered by mosquitos where the shirt covered. It may put off an undetectable smell as I seldom wore repellant on my head, but they didn't bother me much. They did bite my uncovered hands though.

A dense weave fabric won't allow most insects to bite through, the exception being if the fabric is skin tight. I found that out the hard way.

Mosquitos like darker colors.
