I think that the 17HM2 may be the best cartridge for shooting squirrels that has yet to be introduced. If there were a larger number of seriously dedicated squirrel hunters, I think that the 17HM2 would get more press, more love, more respect, and that would all lead to more rifles being chambered for it. My Marlin 917M2S shoots groups that are nearly as good as my Anschutz 1502, but for about 1/3 the price.
