You are still going to have a heavy pull. The only sure fix is to properly stone and polish the sear and trigger engagement. There are instructions all over the net because its such a prevalent problem. The mkII's are horrible until you properly tune them. Now, if we were talking the newer hawkeye LC6, its a lot easier to tune. A lighter spring and slight polish is all that is required. I like all my hunting rifles to have a 2.5 pound pull. The MK II can get there, but with some effort. A spring wont get you there.
