Anyone out there that knows of a gunsmith in Southern California that can change the barrel on a Savage AXIS? (has the equipment - knows what he is doing). I have a Savage AXIS with a POS 243 Win barrel on it. I was thinking of going to 6mm Creedmor or Dasher. Why i need someone in my state is the fact that if you send a gun out of the Marxist/Socialist Peoples Republic of California to a gunsmith it has to be sent back to a FFl holder and then you have to reregister it . Its an extra cost of about $100. Found a gunsmith ??? here that said he coulded headspace a rifle for $85 if I furnish the gages and he keeps the gages and it cold take 4 months.
