The only powder I can get to 5400 joules in Quickload with a 286gr A-frame at less than 60,000 psi is RL-17. Gives a projected 2,518 FPS in a 24” barrel. None of the other powders available in our part of the world will do it at lower pressure and without seriously compressed loads.

Obviously please treat with caution and work your loads up etc. etc.

That load is going to “skop” off a bench...

I believe it is quite possible to get the 320gr Woodleigh to the 5400 joules with RL-17. I dont know if you can check for me and maybe send me some QL info in a PM? I would really appreciate it. I dont have QL.

I will probably start at around 58gr and start working up in .5gr increments untill I reach 2370fps. There are two diffirent 320gr woodleigh bullets. The PP & the RN. Not sure which one to go with yet. Still doing some research.

As mentioned here is my rifles and case info:

Caliber: 9.3x62 CZ 550
H20 volume of cases: 75.30 gr (Norma)
Total Cartrage Lenght: 87.50 mm
Barrel lenght: 601 mm
