I had one many years ago. It was pretty light and had a 22” barrel with a 1-9” twist. I was surprised at the velocities that it would produce. Mine was the Ackley version. I have never had any luck necking cases up with a tapered mandrel. So, I expanded the necks by using inert filler. The formula I was taught is to use 20% of the weight of the max charge. Use the fastest pistol powder, I used Bullseye or Unique. Always use a pistol primer!
Figured I would get the improved version since it was the same amount of work.

The recoil was much like a 375 H&H given that the ballistics were within 150-175 fps. Actually an H&H down loaded will, I believe, have comparable recoil at the same velocities.

It performed really well but was too much trouble so I turned it into a 375 H&H. The only wildcat that I have used that was worth the trouble was the 25-06. Then it became a factory deal. I really like it for critters under 500#.
