In July 1965. Started on hourly at a whopping $2.685 an hour, working 7 days a week. I was going to school at the same time and had a hard time cashing my checks. My dad had to go to the bank and cash them for me. I was 18 years old and rolling in dough!
Worked there for a year and transferred to a new Ford Plant in 1966 and went on salaried shortly thereafter. Stayed there for the next 37 years!
