Bad? Absolutely no warranty available, and getting one repaired is not only hit or miss, but cost prohibitive. They are neat scopes simply for nostalgia, but unless you are simply trying to find a period correct piece for a certain rifle, I'd avoid them. Glass it typical of the 80's, and most have developed a slight haze that there really isn't much you can do to correct. Most also have very limited windage adjustment, but they do work well with Redfield bases with windage adjustable rears.

Honestly, just about any current Chinese/Philippine/Taiwan optic is lightyears ahead of just about any of the older Redfields. I've owned a bunch of them, and still have a couple. In fact, I just took an older 6-18x AccuTrac to the range last week to play around with on a Marlin .22 Mag. Glass is absolutely underwhelming, but the elevation turret tracked pretty well.
