Minnesota law question.
Would it be a clean shoot if the looter is carrying an unloaded, stolen weapon?
If the shooter thought that the looter was threatening him with the gun, even if it was unloaded, it would be self defense.
In 2015 we had a cop shoot and kill an 8th grade black kid. The cop had received a report of a "guy with a gun" in a park. When the cops drove up, the kid (who was 5' 8") jumped up and reached for the gun in his belt. It was actually an airsoft pistol. The grand jury refused to indict the cop.
