Friend of mine got out of the Army about a month before 9/11. He was in the guard. They gto deployed to "Defend" the Mackinac Bride here in Michigan. They didnt even give them empty magazines. He said "I'm standing there like an A$$hole with a rifle that has no mag in it supposedly defending the bridge with a bunch of overweight 40 year olds with gear from Vietnam" A week or 2 later he just rejoined the regular Army caus ehe said no way in hell he was going to war with the National Guard.
