Wish they'd make a plain one in this caliber or .30-40 for those of us who don't need fancy nor fancy the high price!

My brother has a C. Sharps .30-40 1885 Hi-Wall which is a great gun on the range, but WAY too heavy for hunting. I have one in .44-40 that I cut down into a carbine just for that reason. Even with the big hole down the middle, their 28" #3 octagon barrel is like carrying a diggin' bar.... With 10" less barrel, it's great for the woods and brush and probably the most accurate .44-40 in captivity but not a rifle for hunting on the baldies....a .303 or .30-40 would be fine up there.
