They sure don't. I know of one .30'06 that kicks like a Missouri mule. A friend wanted me to check his zero before leaving for an elk hunt. I was using my M.70 Fetherweight with 180 grain bullets loaded to 2730 fps and his was loaded with 165 grain bullets about 50 fps more. I shot mine first and was pleased with 5 shots, then I shot his and thought it had blown up! I looked over the rifle and saw everything was alright so I fired another shot and received a kick just as hard as the first one. Both shots landed within 1/4" of each other and I pronounced it good.
