The only issue with the Lymans, in my opinion, was that the tube was a little fragile at the threaded joint between the objective bell and the tube. Still, they were a great scope. Good optics, super adjustments.
I'll tell you what, I would be happy to put that scope on my sheep rifle and pack it up the mountain. It would have worked fine fifty years ago and it would work fine now. I regularly hunt with fifty year old scopes and older rifles. I don't think you would want to mount it on your rifle and throw it across the yard, like Dip Stick does, but I don't think most people would do that with most scopes and rifles. GD
