I can hear my late mother-in-law now, saying "Someone's going to get hurt! I told those damn kids!".

Even here in commie-controlled New Jersey the fireworks were going on all over the place. My new backyard neighbor had quite a display in the street. All fireworks are and have been illegal (except for sparklers) since forever here. That didn't stop my neighbor, even though across the street lives a state cop. I guess police were told not to confront anyone, and I certainly wouldn't blame them for alying low.

I can remember when the cops would be out in force stopping people with fireworks on the Fourth.

Our mayor publicly said that aerial fireworks would not be tolerated. Did that mean on the ground fireworks were OK, or somehow were now permissible? I didn't ask.
