I'm contemplating snake boots again. On of my favorite summer fly fishing streams runs through a big field. The creek is lined with alders and I run into rattlesnakes now and then in the damp grass under the alders which suppresses the buzz somewhat. Hiking across the field, the grass is chest height so it's hard to see your feet. Seems like snake boots or the like are in order.

I don't remember what brand I had before. I got size 10 because the ankles were too tight to get my size 9 feet in and out of. Then being sloppy my feet slid around and I got blisters. Eventually I got rid of them.

I just have this twitchy feeling ... I should get some again before I fish that creek next.

What has worked for you? Would you do pull on, side zip, or lace-up as a fishing boot, or at least fishing-access boot?

Anyone who thinks there's two sides to everything hasn't met a Mbius strip.
