The west coast of the USA, for those who have not experienced every mile of it, might be the most beautiful country in the union, if not the world. In my youth my father would took a month off and we camped from the US-Mexico border to Vancouver Island, BC., 5 or 6 years in a row. Rogue River, Redwoods, San Fran, Tillimook for some cheese curds, San Juan Islands...... Big Sur. Tomales Bay for clams. Olympic National Park. Vancouver Island. Damn.... Such beautiful country. But you couldn't pay me enough to live there now. Chit show of liberal insanity.
This - on the mark - have traveled through and spent a lot of time in almost all of it during the past 50 years. A steady and deliberate social decline - one could see it progressing - in 1992 turned down a very attractive assignment because it would have meant working and living in that "fabulous" area along the bay south of SF. No way.
