I thought that I’d add this bit of a tribute, written by my cousin, about her father. There was more, but a bit more personal. I’ve often said that he was a “man’s man”......I think that this is a pretty good indication of that! There weren’t many made like Johnnie F. memtb

“ My dad who didn’t miss a day (literally) from going to this store for his daily hit of cracklings that Shane Areba Messer cooked. He didn’t care who was at his home visiting. Nothing stopped him from his routine. He still cut his own grass. Actually cut the grass on Monday and Wednesday was in the hospital. He maintained a graveyard. He still changed the lawnmower blades on his mower which required laying on the cement! He still stood on 1 foot in shower to wash his feet! He went to the casino the week before in Kinder and drove himself there and anywhere else he chose to go. He would get in and out of the Slingshot. He’d basically fall in and crawl, pull and tug to get out! If you’ve never been in one of these besides being a blast to drive and ride in, it’s a real booger to get out of!!!! He took really no meds but maintenance meds. He complained about numerous things wrong with his body from his head, stomach, butt and feet!!! I was an oops but he told Mom that God was going to send them another girl. (They lost their 1st born, daughter when she was 2.5.) Dad was 41 when I was born and his only fear was he wouldn’t live long enough to see me grown. Well Dad, I’ll be 49 next month! Guess that Dr. Ticheners mouthwash you sipped on is the answer to a long healthy life!!!!! Mom said that Johnnie did EXACTLY what Johnnie wanted to do all his life minus the last 9 days.”
