I wanted ine bad back about '86/87... I was building a Argentine 98 Mauser. Because the bolt work needed a d the finikness that a belted case can cause in a conversion. I opted for the 35 Whelen. My single and only complaint was as I handed that gun smith the final 1200$ for the rifle work. He showed me a brand new Remington Classic chambered in 35 Whelen for 1987... with a price tag os LESS THEN 1/2 Of what I just paid.
. But my Mauser works and shoots perfect AND its built To my exact instruction.
I agree if you needing ghat within 250 or so yards that Speer 220 is near perfection! If ya need range I like Nosler Accubonds. I use the 225's in my Whelen its a laser inside 300! (Never had opportunity at longer) Biggest issue is short magazines. Ya cant seat long boolits.
