That is exactly what turned me off on the 7 mag. Met a guy out hunting circa 1986 and his 7 mag was WAY better than the 270's and 6.5-06 we were using.
All three of us filled our tags, while he missed and wounded deer. To this day, I have never owned a 7 mag, and never will.
