I've owned High Walls and B-78's in 25-06, 7mag, 270 WSM, 454 Casull, 30-06 Springfield, 300 H&H 375 H&H and 45-70, and maybe a couple others I don't recall. The 270 WSM and the 30-06 Springfield will do what ever you need, and the recoil wil be somewhat less than the 45-70.
Having said that, one could always sell his 45-70 high wall and buy a new Winchester in 6.5 Creed or a Low Wall in 260 Rem.
