A sunroof, heated seats, electronic controls for seats, running boards, etc. add weight to trucks, and reduce payload. There are a LOT of F150's out there with high end trim packages that have less payload than a Tacoma. A lot of high end F250's with diesel engines with less payload than a base model F150. I'm sure the same is true with other manufacturers, but I'm more familiar with Ford's offerings.
