They discontinued the brood count because the low numbers were discouraging hunters and depressing license sales. The game and fish said it wasn’t accurate anyway. If I can find the press release on this from a couple months ago I will post it.
This year bird numbers should be better than the last 2 years, have seen numerous broods this year where I didn’t see any last year.
It’s been a drier and warmer nesting season and that really helped.
The area you mentioned should be one of the best areas in the state.
