Don’t have time to type a full narrative of the day, and lots of things stick with you from something like that as you can imagine. But the one that always chokes me up is recalling watching the F16 fighters circling manhattan providing air cover the rest of the day while escorting my wife across Central Park after her first day as a school teacher. It was eerily quiet and those jets were the only real sound you could hear.

Never been so proud to be a Vermonter in my life as I was knowing that the F-16s of the VT Air Guard were among the first on the scene...armed and ready.
