Guy at the range Thursday showed me a .300 PRC cartridge. Very sexy, but the Savage chassis rifle he was shooting weighs 13 pounds, and at 100 yards his targets weren't looking any better than the ones from my 60 year-old .270 FN burning 25gr less powder. He's not a hunter, but a guy could hurt himself carrying that thing to the bench. That rifle was braked (thankfully he warned me before letting loose), but after I doubled up my ear protection, it wasn't objectionable at all, unlike the .338 Lapuas I've run into. Still, when I get really old and become a range rat, I'll stick to 6s and under for my fun.

Pretty wood on that Wby!

What fresh Hell is this?
