If this taxpayer/tourism funding drought continues in those cities/areas where they have already bloated their "government" with unneeded/unproductive employees (seem to be quite a few of these), the fallout from the reduction in force is going to be quite interesting. It will further affect their tax income, put more strain on their unemployment payments and welfare systems, cause a falling away of former political support where folks were hired because they would vote certain ways, lead to unrest and uprisings by those accustomed to being on the dole, etc., etc.

The Dems need to take action now to avoid these outcomes in their stronghold areas - it will be difficult to re-balance after the fact.

The Fed leaders need discipline - let those who created the mess be responsible for the corrections. Fixing this IS NOT a responsibility for the remainder of our taxpayers.

Maybe it won't happen to any great extent - but there are indicators.


C4, I could never begin to envision democrats acting fiscally responsible. Ever.

Their answer to all dilemmas, whether real or perceived, is to tax and spend without regard for the endgame and the endgame is nigh for many of these fetid municipalities.

Much of the above applies to republicans also. Very much.
