Don't know what tapered 9mm you are referring to ??????? but the 9mm's in my 1911's are straight and feed just fine.........if it is a real 1911 they all have single stack confused



9mms ARE tapered, though you have to look closely, but it's there. I promise.

I like 9mms, but in a 1911, it's gotta be .45 or .38 Super or 10mm. I think the extra length of the Super case makes it more reliable in a 1911 sized frame. Yes, I know current production 9mm 1911s are reliable, but I think the Super is better for the size of the frame.
