The el-cheapo models are the only trail cams I use. Only spent more than 50 bucks on one once and it didn't even last as long as the cheapos. If I get at least 2 years out of one I'm happy. Most live for 2-4 years and that's being out all year. Each one has 2 SD cards that get swapped like rockinbbar does and they run lithium-ion batteries in winter. Had a couple real cheap ones that used those micro cards and they were a PIA for sure. One of 'em only cost about 30 bucks on a markdown sale 5 or 6 years ago and that was a waste of money. Some weird brand I never heard of and can't recall the name of. Over the years I've had above average good luck with the Wildgame Innovation cameras economy models.
