I saw a big deer out yonder in the field, on way to stand back in thicket. Cut in and got perched quietly, waited 15 mins and grunt called. Could not see the deer in the field.
About 5 mins later here he comes. Skirted me at 75 yards, way the ridge rolled. He had the chit beat out of him, but he still was big (busted damn near every point).

What I found out bowhunting right before gun, calls work often. Best have the caller 50 yards upwind of the shooter.

The thicket is dense, and Ive blind called w the can. Bucks show up right under ya. But......they seem to be searching and not stand still.

We can get em to show up and cut through using calls.

Patchwork woods w ag all around. Theyre like ping pong balls anyway. Really no resident deer. Unlike bigger ground.

Think bigger ground calls work better.
