Contrast his reaction to that Chicago Lady Cop who was nearly gutted by the knife-wielding guy she tased.
That guy probably practices drawing a lot so it comes without thinking, I doubt that lady shot at all more than she was absolutely required to qualify.
That cop has excellent instincts. His arm moved up and deflected that gun from his face before he had time to process what was happening. Both of his arms did exactly what they needed to do and they did it all in a second,..maybe 1.5 seconds, max.
If I had to guess, I'd say the distance involved is typical of a lot of gun altercations.
