Yep. I regard 2000fps as top end with my 190 fn's I load for hunting cast of WW's with a pinch of tin added for mould fill-out. BHN of around 12 as measured with an LBT hardness tester. I can squeeze that velocity out of my M54 Winchester 24" barrel with 28gr. 3031. No leading and great accuracy.

The key is bullet fit. Ignore groove diameter and strive for throat diameter. The idea is to seal the hot propellant gasses behind the bullet from the git go.

Super hard bullets are great at the range but suck in the deer woods.
