I'll take my AR-15 and AR-10, .223/5.56 and .308 Win respectively, whether "survival" means getting food, surviving the apocalypse or both. My Ruger Scout in .308 Win might replace the AR-10 in non-apocalyptic scenarios.

I would stick with the AR 15 but probably prefer a bolt on 308
