Remington never did this. IIRC they just wanted to shoot .223 bullets, at .223 velocities, in existing 30-06 and 30-30 rifles. There wasn't much of a market for this.
As usual, Remington marketing people screwed it up.
IIRC the 30-06 Accelerators where kicking a 55gr at somewhere around 4000fps and the 308 at around 3800fps. I don't recall the 30-30 numbers.
