It expands but not a great deal with the Brooks bullet. The flat nose 311041 does fine. It is the reason I started out with 30:1. OTOH, I use CNS shots on hogs do it matters little. And yes, 50/50 pb/ww.

Pic below is a Brooks bullet fired into dry sugar sand at ~950 fps. It is 30:1 alloy which tests ~6 BHN. They pass thru hogs and I haven't haven't recovered one there. The 50/50+Sn tests at 9BHN.


I have no pics of the 311041 of this nature.

OTOH, here's a pic of a CCI .22 CB short that was recovered from a hog.








I'm disposed to put them where they count rather than rely on hellfire and damnation.
