If the coatings and glass are in good shape people would be surprised at the quality of view of these spotters. The optics are kind've like the Bushnell Customs of the late 70's-80's--surprisingly good. They are simple, light, and very rugged. I've had mine for 30 years and still use it often enough, and it has compared quite favorably to the Razor 50mm's on several occasions.
I wish somebody would offer the same package with current glass and coatings.
