Marlin 44 mag rifles have large groove diameters. My Ballard rifled I'm stamped 1894 runs 0.3215". There are two SAAMI specs for 44 mag groove diameters: pistol =0.429", rifle 0.431+"

Shoot A fat bullet for best accuracy from the Marlin carbine/"rifle.". The largest diameter jacketed "0.44" caliber bullet is made by Zero bullets (distributed by Rose Distribution, online). The run 0.431" diameter, and are 240 grains. Need to order in minimum 500 round lots. They shoot very well, and are priced lower than any other marketed "44" caliber jacketed bullet, and it includes shipping! Great bulletfor the Marlin.
