Limited experience with the .460 S & W in carbine so far, but based on shooting an Encore with the 20" Katahdin barrel and 200 gr bullets I think 200 yards would be stretching it. You would need a rangefinder and tape a trajectory chart to the stock to hold correctly for the longer shots. 150 yds shouldn't be a problem.

Barnes offers a .451 caliber 275 gr monolithic spire point which I have not been able to try yet. Published hotter loads with that bullet might shoot flat enoug for 200yd. shots.

IF available, go for a longer barrel without a muzzle brake. Few more fps and less need for ear protection when easing through the woods looking/listening for game.
