So, I have had two Model 50’s now. For those who may not know they are built on FN commercial Mauser actions. Both of mine came with two position low wing safetys designed to allow for scope clearance. Neither safety would function when I got them. Filing and polishing needed on both. Is this a common problem? The problem is the safety, not the cocking piece. I tried swapping in a military Mauser three-position safety and it functioned perfectly.
