After making sure that the scope is perfectly level with the bore of the rifle, I always take along a hunting partner and two 1-foot levels. After I shoulder the rifle, prior to actually taking the shot. I have the partner place the levels across my shoulders to make sure that I, and my hold, are perfectly square with the scope.
