A young man from Noorvik Alaska has won the 2021 Rhodes Scholarship this year. Wilifred went to high school in Noorvik and went to Harvard where he was elected to the College Council. He is studying European Languages and plans to student economics at University of Oxford. I am pretty happy about this. Wilifred is a third generation missionary with his mom and dad being teachers at Noorvik. Willifred is both Christian and Conservative and that is about as rare as it gets. It is a pretty big thing for rural Alaskans. Most big scholarships go to the political elite class from Anchorage and Juneau. I hope he does well and comes back after he completes his studies.
