Driving through a small town, I have a hard time driving past a gun shop without dropping in... SOOOOO

Went into the shop of a "gunsmith/auto mechanic/tire shop" (I'm not making that up), just to see if there was anything interesting that might be cheap. Struck up a conversation with the "gunsmith" who seemed decent enough until he went off on some strange stuff.

I mentioned the Uberti I bought for my son.
1 - He proceeded to tell me what a pile of crap they are. He concluded with, "Italy doesn't have any steel; so all Italian guns tend to be [bleep]".
I just smirked and let that go.

Then looking at a Spanish 20ga double he had on the wall, I commented that the barrels look too short for bird/clays shooting
2 - "Barrel length doesn't make a difference".
If you say so, I said... Knowing that's the answer of a man who has READ about shotgunning, but doesn't actually do any.

3 - "Spain doesn't have any steel either".
This time I chimed in... Uh, never heard of "Spanish Steel"
4 -"I've only heard it was [bleep]"

Google "Spanish Steel and the Pyrenees", I think you'll see that Spain might know a thing or two about steel.

WHOA!!! Don't go in there again.
