I have a 2011 3.5 with 214,000 miles on it. The only time it has been in the shop is when there was a recall for a transmission issue. My friend has a 2013 with 217,000 miles. He had a couple of issues but I can’t recall what they were. My brother has a 2018 3.5 and he gets 22 mpg on the highway everyday. I get about 19. My Ford actually amazes me; I’ve driven it for 9 years now and nothing has broken- not a switch, light, lever, gadget, nothing. I drove a buddies 5.0 out to Wyoming for an antelope hunt and I enjoyed the V8 sound.
I think the reason you see very few V8s for sale is that very few have been sold in comparison to the 3.5 since 2011 when the 3.5 came out.
The 3.5 hauls azz and will put a big smile on your face.
I don’t think you can go wrong with either one.
