Being stationed at Marine Barracks Rota Spain in the early 1970s, I fell in love with the multitude of Italian cars buzzing about. With a newborn child, I bought an Italian family sedan, a 124 four door, just like this one (same color) and brought it back to the states with me . . I paid $3,500 for mine. This one just sold for $9,400.

However, this little number was available to me as well, but it only had two seats, so not family friendly, and I was as poor as a church mouse. Owning two cars was not even a rational thought for decades for me. It was designed by Ferrari talent, including the engine.
