I once had a 700 Classic in .257 Roberts with the same issue. I tried factory ammo, and then new brass run through a FL sizing die, and always a crush fit. I probably should have returned it to Remington but, as it didn't have sights, took the opportunity to have my gunsmith true the action and re-cut the chamber. Always wondered how it got out of the factory like that. Or maybe it was in spec, I don't know.

More recently I bought a Ruger 77 RSI with a burr in the chamber. That resulted in difficulty with closing, opening and extraction, and the problem was immediately apparent when looking at the cases.
