Windfall: I had dreams (25+ years ago) of finding a Cooper I could afford in either 221 Remington Fireball or 17 MachIV. This was before the 17 Remington Fireball came along in some Remington Rifles.
I found a Remington 700 700 VSF (Varmint Synthetic Fluted) in 17 Remington Fireball and "settled for that".
From this same estate I got my Cooper from is another beautifully stocked Cooper in 6.5x284 Winchester caliber - to much recoil for my Varminting needs but it sure is a beautiful Rifle and it has a high end Leupold variable scope on it as well. Anyone interested in it I could get you the contact information.
I have a pair of Rifles in caliber 221 Remington Fireball and have used them in Rock Chuck and Prairie Dog colonies as well as a few Ground Squirrel shoots.
It is a FINE cartridge and capable of excellent accuracy.
My 221 Rifles are a Kimber of Oregon Ultra-Varmint and a Remington 700 Classic - both of which shoot very well indeed.
Enjoy that Jackson.
