I am often reminded of the story John McEnroe has in his autobiography. He's married to rocker Patty Smyth. His hobby for years is the guitar and he'd goto jam at NYC clubs with his buddies. He came home after one gig bragging to his rocker star wife about how they killed it and how well he played. She just stared him down and said "Nope..."

McEnroe was miffed and insisted he was shredding it. Smyth put him in his place saying

"God does not let you be John McEnrow AND Eddie Van Halen..."

Moral of the story,, even the most talented are flawed. Sometimes the bigger the talent, the bigger the personal flaws.

That's what makes people like Jack Nicklaus and Arnold Palmer so incredible. Giants in their arena and great family men without critics. Rare.
